Help a fellow RDPS out!

[:1]Hey there! With the lack of compensation for the elemental nerf, my main and beloved class has become an uncertainty for the expansion. (disregard this toon I post with)

I was wondering if any of you had both a mage and hunter that you played extensively, and would be able to guide me in the right direction. I'm a range dps at heart and I'm torn between these two classes in the event shaman see only neglect in patches to come.

I appreciate any advice you guys have on this issue!
If your ditching your shaman because its getting nerfed. play a mage. you wont be able to cope with the hunter playstyle.

log on.. oh dang pets dont work anymore.
Yeh play a Mage. You have to love the class to play hunter. We not only get nerfed consistently, but issues weve had for years never get fixed. This patch may be the first one ive seen with changes that are a plus for us. And even so, they dont affect much.
I think it is less to do with simple nerfs and more to do with elemental being the only shammy spec I enjoy. Mage and hunter appear to have specs for different situations and that might be more closely the playstyle I'd enjoy.

I put hunter above mage for my choice because of the positive attitude that swept the forums after blizzcon. It made me feel that hunters may be getting their needs met soon.

I don't aspire to be the top dog in everything, Id just like to be viable in a few things.

Team with a Hunter in it means that not only will we not be getting our "needs met," but probably going to be nerfed somehow.

Enjoy not being the top dog in anything.
I never recommend people play a hunter as there main. After 6 months they learn that blizz gets a sick satisfaction out of breaking aspects of hunters then gluing them back together, half cocked, 6 months later. After experiencing this you will lose the ability to trust other human beings IRL and become disturbingly attached to you virtual friend/pet.
You'll also develop a fat fetish.
